Abstract (en)
[origin: EP1731685A2] The facade has a building wall (1) with an insulating layer (2) arranged on the exterior of the building wall in a vertical direction by a horizontal running latch plate (3). Cladding (4) is provided on the insulating layer and the latch plate. The cladding is separated at a distance from the insulating layer and latch plate in such a way a backing ventilation gap (6) is provided. A flame retardant element (7) made from non-combustible material, extends over the entire width of the gap, reducing its cross section and preventing spreading of a fire over the gap.
