Abstract (en)
A novel device consists of a solid block (2) containing boreholes (3, 4, 5, 6) subjected to internal pressure and a pressurizer (1) for creating stress in the block to counteract the stress due to the internal pressure in the holes. The stress reducing force exerted by the pressurizer on the block acts perpendicular to the plane defined by the boreholes.
