Abstract (en)

[origin: WO2005098019A2] Disclosed is a method for testing the degree of microbial load of laundry following one washing cycle. Said method is characterized in that a defined number of living microorganisms are washed along with the laundry, the number of living microorganisms after completing the washing process is determined, and the effectiveness or the quality of the washing process is determined from the difference between the original number of living microorganisms and the number of microorganisms that are alive following the washing process. The inventive device for carrying out said method comprises, among other things, a receptacle (90) in which the microorganisms are enclosed in such a way that the washing liquid can penetrate into said receptacle (90) while the microorganisms cannot escape therefrom.
