Abstract (en)
[origin: WO2005081553A1] A telephony system, comprising a fixed-line phone network (such as public switched telephony network (PSTN)) and/or a mobile phone network (such as public land mobile network (PLMN)), and a data network (such as Internet or other IP employed packet switched network). Subscriber to the fixed-line or mobile phone network has both a phone, connected to the fixed-line or mobile phone network, and a voice terminal, connected to the data network. The system uses a fixed-lineor mobile phone number, assigned by the fixed-line or mobile phone network, as a common identifier for both the phone and the voice terminal. Incoming calls to that fixed-line or mobile phone number are connected to the phone or to the phone or to the voice terminal, or both, according to the subscriber's preferences.
