Abstract (en)

[origin: WO2005100077A1] The invention relates to a device for automatically controlling a track-bound vehicle, particularly a magnetic levitation vehicle. The device contains a drive and brake system (4), an additional brake (9), a stationarily mounted travel computer (5) and information transmitters (10), which are located along a guideway for the vehicle and which serve to furnish state signals in the form of location, speed and direction signals. According to the invention, the device also contains means (12, 29) for reliably stopping and/or starting the vehicle at/from preselected stopping zones and are designed in such a manner that once an impermissible traveling state is reached in the area of the stopping zones, an immediate decoupling of the vehicle from the drive and brake system (4) ensues, and the additional brake (9) is activated.
