[origin: WO2005100081A2] The invention relates to a drive unit (10) of a regulating element for a vehicle seat, especially a motor vehicle seat, comprising at least one especially electronically commutated motor (12) and at least one transmission stage (14) provided on the output side of the motor (12). According to the invention, the transmission stage (14) is embodied as a differential gear which generates a movement of a drive pinion (54) about an axis (A) by means of two different rotational speeds and/or rotational directions.
