[origin: WO2005108188A1] The invention relates to a method of producing a sheet metal part comprising at least one base surface (112) having a boss (111) close to at least one of the edges thereof, known as the proximal edge (131), said boss (111) being provided on the inner face (1121) of the base surface (112). The invention is characterised in that it comprises: at least one drawing step, during which the boss (111) is produced; and at least one bending step, during which the proximal edge (131) is bent in the direction of the boss (111) until it extends essentially parallel to the aforementioned inner surface (1121), said bending step consisting in exerting a counter force against the face of the base surface (112) opposite the inner face (1121) at least close to the proximal edge (131).
