Abstract (en)

[origin: WO2005093149A1] The invention relates to a laundry treatment machine comprising an illumination device in the area of the door that is disposed on the front side within the appliance housing and closes the feeding hole to the rotatably mounted drum. An illumination ring circumferentially encloses the edge of the door. In order to create a laundry treatment machine comprising an illumination device in such a way that the edge region of the door can be illuminated in a glare-free manner for appliances both with or without a door inspection glass, the illumination ring is generated by an illumination device (7) which is arranged so as to be hidden behind the closed door, said illumination device (7) being located inside an embossment (10, 11) that is embedded in relation to the front side (1) of the appliance housing and circumferentially encircles the feeding hole (2). The light of the illumination device (7) is reflected on the peripheral surfaces (11) of the embossment (10, 11) and the door edge such that the illumination ring that is visible on the front side (1) of the appliance housing is formed in the gap area (13) between the circumferential edge (11) of the embossment and the door edge.
