A first emission signal (S1) is transmitted from the ground antenna (7) of the control appliance (4) to an antenna of the wheel module (8). Data is transmitted from the wheel module (8) to the control appliance (4) by means of a second emission signal, the first emission signal (S1) having a different frequency (fl) to that of the second emission signal. When the tyre (3) rolls over the ground antenna (7), the first emission signal (S1) is received in the wheel module (8) and the second emission signal is received in the control appliance (4).
