Abstract (en)
[origin: WO2005101489A2] Disclosed is a light source which generally represents a dividable array of LED chips that are applied to a support element. A concave mirror-type or diaphragm-type optical element is provided for each LED chip or unit of LED chips that are arranged next to each other and emit in different spectral ranges, for example. A continuous heat-conducting path is provided from a fixing surface of the LED chip/s to surfaces of the optical element which are open towards the outside, i.e. each of the elements forming the heat-conducting path is entirely metallic or is made of metal-filled plastic while said elements as a whole form a continuous cooling element for the LED chip.
