[origin: EP1736579A2] A loom shaft comprises (a) a shaft rod on which braids for formation of fabric fans are retained, (b) a side support (5) enclosing an internal cavity (21) and connected with the rod and (c) a connecting joint (10), between and connecting (a) and (b) and including a swivel axis (14) outside (a). Either (i) the connecting joint is free of restoring force as regards the swivelling motion or (ii) a drive connector is combined with the side support as a single piece.
