Abstract (en)
[origin: EP1736624A2] The panic handle (14) or bar for a door has abase (20) with a fixing face for a door frame and having a guide case (26) to receive a rotatable rectangular socket (34) extending at right angles to the fixing face. A coupling (32) connects the base to the panic handle and a transmission causes movement of the coupling into rotation of the socket. The coupling casing and transmission are on one side of the face.
