Abstract (en)

[origin: EP1737281A2] The device has a power electronics (16) with a heating layer for lighting a fluorescent lamp (11) and a tube end layer for burning the lamp. A digital controller (15) is provided for controlling the power electronics, where the controller provides analog control signals to control the electronics and enables a pulse width modulation of the lamp to adjust the average light output of the lamp.
