Abstract (en)

[origin: WO2005107556A1] Disclosed is a vacuum cleaner, especially a floor-type vacuum cleaner, comprising a modularly designed housing that is provided with a stable chassis (2) which is embodied as an injection-molded plastic part for different vacuum cleaner variants, and a variant-specific cover (4) for the chassis (2), said cover (4) being configured as a deep-drawn plastic element. All functional subunits, e.g. for the switching on/off function, winding up of the cord, , are integrated in the chassis (2) while the cover (4) essentially encompasses only operator's controls for said functional subunits. The fact that the chassis (2) is embodied for different vacuum cleaner variants makes it possible to obtain a great variety of models while keeping the time and expenditures required for development low by selecting a special cover (4).
