[origin: WO2005053502A1] The aim of the invention is to provide a method which allows items, contained in a processing chamber, to be effectively and efficiently dried from an economical point of view and the energy consumption to be thus maintained as low as possible, despite a very high drying power. Said aim is achieved, whereby a medium (16), in a container (12), is evaporated and/or sublimed and then cooled; the medium vapour, generated in said container (12), is absorbed by a reversible desiccating material (11) in an absorber (10) and the reversible desiccating material (11) is then heated; the air, contained in a processing chamber (2), is led to the cooled medium, whereby said air is cooled, in order to dehumidify the air by moisture condensation, and the cooled and dehumidified air is heated on the reversible desiccating material (11) and returned into the processing chamber (2).
