Method of reinitialization of counting the length of the bobbin threads comprises measuring the speed of rotation of the empty bobbin, measuring the speed of rotation after the start of bobbin thread formation, in which the maximum speed attained at the winding phase and the minimum speed at the consecutive progressive phase of bobbing of the threads are compared with the empty bobbin, either executing the reinitialization of the counting of length when measured speed of rotation after the start is substantially equal or greater than the speed of rotation obtained with the empty bobbin or starting the counting when the speed is substantially lesser than the speed of rotation obtained with the empty bobbin or where the bobbin rested. An independent claim is also included for a device for implementing the procedure comprising at least a mean to measure the speed of rotation of the bobbin by delivering one or more impulses to deduct the frequency of the impulsions or to the rate of frequency between the impulsions.
