Abstract (en)

[origin: DE102004019370B3] Production of a structurized hard chrome layer involves deposition on a workpiece from an electrolyte (I) containing (a) chromium(VI) compound in an amount corresponding to 50-300 g/l chromium(VI) oxide, (b) 0.5-10 g/l sulfuric acid and (c) 5-15 g/l 1-6 carbon aliphatic sulfonic acid but no ammonium or alkali(ne earth) molybdate, vanadate or zirconate, operating with a cathodic current yield of 12% or less. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) the structurized hard chrome layer per se; (2) coating process, involving depositing a structurized hard chrome layer on a workpiece and applying a composition containing epoxide resin and a solid lubricant (II) and/or hard substance (III) to this; (3) the coating per se; (4) electrolyte (I) per se.
