[origin: WO2005100682A1] Disclosed is a machine for producing a paper web, cardboard web, tissue web, or another fiber web (18), comprising at least one heated drying cylinder (3) which is covered, across a section of the outer circumference thereof, by at least one pressing hood (2) that applies a certain contact pressure to the drying cylinder (3). The fiber web (18) is directed between the drying cylinder (2) and the pressing hood (2) along with at least one wire (15, 16) and an impermeable covering (17). The inventive machine is characterized in that a means for generating a negative pressure in the at least one wire (15, 16) is mounted upstream of the drying cylinder (3) and the pressing hood (2).
