[origin: WO2005103605A1] The present invention is related to an apparatus and a method for measuring the coating thickness deposited inside or outside a plastic container by measuring the internal transmission at two wavelengths. One wavelength is in the infrared range, i.e. longer than 750nm, and allows to subtract the absorption of the substrate while the other wavelength is shorter and chosen in a range wherein absorption by the coating is maximum and absorption by the substrate is moderate.
