[origin: WO2005101439A1] A signaling device for a protective circuit is provided with an input part (52) for receiving an external state variable, with at least one circuit element (34, 36) and one control part (30, 32). Said control part (30, 32) is adapted to control the at least one circuit element (34, 36), depending on the external state variable, in such a manner that a signal applied to the input (38) is switched through to the output (42). According to an embodiment of the invention, the input (38) of the circuit element (34, 36) is internally subjected to a permanent potential, preferably a permanent high potential. In a protective circuit for switching off a hazardous installation the aforementioned signaling devices are connected in series to a safety control device. The control part of the second signal device controls the circuit elements associated therewith also depending on the first signal device.
