[origin: US2005232394A1] Systems and methods of switching between data acquisition modes in an x-ray system are disclosed. The x-ray system includes a control device and a detector device, the detector device including one or more x-ray sensors. During changes in acquisition modes, responsibility for flushing the one or more x-ray sensors may be transferred from the control device to the detector device. When the detector device is ready to begin acquiring data in a new data acquisition mode, the responsibility is transferred back from the detector device to the control device.
