A part of the switching device is completely decoupled from the steering motion. The switching device has a crank (3) with a guide (2) connected with a steering shaft of the steering wheel. The crank has a halting mechanism (11) with which upper and lower switch bearings (4, 5) of a switch clutch (6) are functionally cooperated.
