[origin: EP1739069A1] The preparation of a diesel oil (21) fraction comprises oligomerizing a 2-12C, preferably 3-5C olefinic hydrocarbon fraction, where C is a carbon atom; separating the obtained mixture into three fractions comprising a non-reacted light fraction containing 4C and/or 5C olefinic hydrocarbon having a distillation point (T95) of less than 100[deg]C, preferably less than 50[deg]C, an medium fraction (I) having T95 of 180-240[deg]C, preferably 200-220[deg]C, and a heavy fraction having T95 of greater than 240[deg]C, preferably greater than 220[deg]C; and oligomerizing (I) with the light fraction at a weight ratio of 60:40-80:20.
