[origin: WO2005106099A1] The invention relates to a lock (1), particularly for a household appliance, such as a clothes dryer, a washing machine, a dishwasher or the like, with a moving retaining element (3), which is provided, in particular, in the form of a slider and which interacts with a locking bar located on a door, a lid or a wing or the like of the household appliance. The lock (1) comprises a latch (4) for the retaining element (3), and this latch has two states. In a first state, the latch (4) blocks the movement of the retaining element (3), and in a second state, enables the movement of the retaining element (3). The latch (4) can be electromagnetically controlled between both states.
