Abstract (en)

In a process to fire ceramic tiles in an anode furnace the current operating condition is monitored by an assembly (1) with a sensor (16). The sensor measures the temperature and/or to determine the quantity of fuel or the heat emitted by burners (10), or the opacity of air. The furnace has an air passage (9) with a sensor (17) measuring the air flow rate through the furnace and feeding the results to an electronic control unit (12) determining a heat passage index for each burner zone. The control unit modifies the process accordingly.
