[origin: WO2005108159A1] The invention relates to a vehicle seat (1) having a seating structure (12), a padded base (13) and a seat cover (14) which at least partially covers said base and which is provided with a recess (15) for passage of a functional unit, especially a catch (7) or an airbag and is equipped with a cover plate (8) in the area of said recess (15). According to the invention, at least one bordering (18, 18') of the recess (15) of the seat cover (14) is provided with a strip-shaped reinforcement element (19, 19') extending along said bordering and the cover plate (8) engages behind the edge opposite said bordering.
