[origin: WO2005103424A1] A cabinet module for storing goods, in particular tools, operating material and the like, has a housing (7) with multiple walls, at least one wall being designed as an abutting surface in the region of which another cabinet module can be joined. A plurality of receptacles are arranged in the housing, at least some of the receptacles being lockable or made accessible by means of a release device (4) arranged at least in part within the housing, and at least one receptacle being designed as a drawer (5, 5') that can be pulled out of the housing. In order to make the storage volume easy to extend while retaining the functionality of the cabinet module for the extended storage volume, a stop for the release device (4) is provided which makes it possible to mechanically transmit to at least one mechanical coupling (26) accessible from outside the housing (7) a switching state of the stop relative to another cabinet (1, 2) which results from drawing out at least one drawer (5, 5') from the housing (7) or from pushing in at least one drawer (5, 5') into the housing (7).
