[origin: WO2005116382A1] Disclosed is a door comprising a door leaf which is movable between a closed position and an open position along a track that is predefined by means of a guide rail system. Said door leaf is provided with a plurality of panels which are disposed one behind another along the predefined track and are pivotally interconnected so as to be swivable about swivel pins that extend perpendicular to the predefined track. At least one guiding element, such as a guide roller, which is preferably accommodated in a guide rail and cooperates with the guide rail system so as to guide the movement of the door leaf, is fixed to at least two panels, preferably each panel with the aid of a roller shaft that extends perpendicular to the predefined track. The inventive door further comprises a safety mechanism encompassing a safety element that can be displaced between a released position in which the same allows a movement of the door leaf and a blocked position in which the same counteracts a movement of the door leaf from the open position into the closed position, said safety element resting against a stationary contact surface when being displaced into the blocked position. The safety mechanism also encompasses a pressing element which is fixed to the door leaf and by means of which the safety element can be pressed in the direction of the contact surface in the blocked position. In order to improve said door, the safety element and/or the pressing element are positioned outside the guide rail.
