[origin: WO2005104982A1] The invention relates to an orthodontic bracket (1) comprising a bent rear wall (3) that rests on the buccal or lingual tooth surface and exactly two surfaces (4, 5) which are used for guiding an archwire (2), are spaced apart from the rear wall (3), and extend perpendicular to one another. A central passage (10, 11) is delimited by the rear wall (3), the two vertical partial sidewalls (15, 16), and one or several external webs (12, 14). The physical and geometric data of an orthodontic archwire (2) is transmitted exclusively by fixing said archwire by means of ligature wire, rubber thread, or springs.
