[origin: WO2005113922A1] The invention relates to a recessed grip (10) for mounting in a rectangular opening (12) of a thin wall (14), such as a sheet metal wall or a door leaf of a sheet metal cabinet, the recessed grip (10) comprising a bottom (18) and four lateral walls (20, 22, 24, 26) extending therefrom. Said four lateral walls (20, 22, 24, 26) end in a rectangular flange-type edge (28) surrounding the face of the opening (12) in the thin wall (14) in the assembled state. Two shorter opposing lateral walls (22, 24) extend essentially parallel to each other and perpendicularly to the thin wall (14), while the two other, longer lateral walls (20, 26) are respectively inclined at an apex angle (27) or an obtuse angle (21) in relation to the thin wall (14), wall segments (30, 32) projecting towards the thin wall (14), from the lateral wall (20) extending at an obtuse angle (21) to the thin wall (14). According to the invention, at least one receiving element (46, 48) is provided for a closing element, such as a closing cylinder (50) comprising a lock (52), in the region of the lateral wall (26) extending at an apex angle (27) to the thin wall (14).
