[origin: WO2005090724A1] The invention relates to a hinge fitting that replaces the hinges of a car door. The hinge fitting includes a fitting part that is connected to the bodywork and a fitting part that is connected to the door. An articulation device having two articulations is placed between both fitting parts. The first articulation is designed to initially allow the door to be opened as foreseen in the factory until the door is moved out of the door aperture. The second articulation is designed to pivot the door upward about a horizontal axis. This makes it possible to change the configuration of car doors in such a way that they can be opened as a folding door. The movements about both axes can be limited in such a way that the door does not come to rest or touches the bodywork.
