[origin: WO2005124984A1] The invention relates to an electrical power supply method and installation. The inventive method is used to supply power to a non-electrified rural area that is located close to a high-voltage HTB three-phase line (12), consisting in drawing electric power from said line. In order to supply at least one charge (cc1, cc2) with electric power from the HTB line, a capacitive voltage divider (20) is connected to one phase of the three-phase line in order to draw a shunt current over said phase, thereby generating a medium voltage HTA at the terminals of at least one of the capacitors of the capacitive divider. The medium voltage HTA is converted into low voltage BT with the aid of a HTA/BT transformer. The electric power supplied to the charge is obtained at low voltage BT.
