[origin: EP1748014A2] Guiding apparatus for symbols (S) in the free space between a gripper cylinder (3) (supplying symbols) and a folding cylinder (4) (abstracting symbols) comprises a holder (16) receiving a plate (8), adjustable about a point of rotation (7) and rotatably receiving a symbol guide (15). The guide has oval cross-section, extends over the full length of the cylinders and is covered on the side facing the cylinders with a strip of low-friction material.
