Abstract (en)
[origin: WO2005110621A1] The invention relates to a doctor blade holder (1) which is configured as a profile strip having a groove (3) extending in the axial direction and receiving the rotatable doctor bar (2). Said doctor bar is forced against a rotating surface and meters and/or levels out a liquid to pasty medium applied to the rotating surface. When the medium is directly applied, the rotating surface is a face of a paper, carton or other fibrous web, and when the medium is applied indirectly, the rotating surface is the surface of a transfer element which transfers the medium onto the fibrous web. According to the invention, the doctor blade holder, in some sections, is configured in the axial direction by at least one insert element (4) which is more resistant to wear and/or heat than the remaining material.
