[origin: WO2005118704A1] The invention relates to a composition comprising a) rubber, b) a cross-linking agent, c) chalcogenides of metals and/or metals as the cross-linking aids and/or age protecting agent, whereby at least one of the components b) and c) is present as composite particles that are constituted of carrier particles to the surface of which particles from the active material having an average diameter of less than 25 mu m or layers thereof having an average layer thickness of less than 25 mu m are applied and/or conglomerates from a plurality of carrier particles to the surface of which particles from the active material having an average diameter of less than 25 mu m or layers thereof having an average layer thickness of less than 25 mu m are applied, and d) optionally additional conventional additives. The inventive composite particles allow to reduce the content in active material while offering comparable properties or to improve the aging resistance of elastomers and/or to increase productivity.
