Abstract (en)

[origin: WO2005112727A1] The invention relates to a vacuum cleaner (1) comprising an appliance housing (3), comprised of a housing section for a motor blower compartment (11), and a housing section for a dust collecting compartment (12). Actuating devices (18) for a cable winding-up device, an on/off switch and a control element (19) for adjusting the vacuuming power are arranged on the top side of the motor blower compartment (11) or on a covering (22) placed on this top side. The vacuum cleaner also comprises a housing cover (2), which is pivotally mounted on cover hinges (6) and which has a cover section (2.1) that covers the dust collecting compartment (12). The aim of the invention is to provide a mounting system for the housing cover (2) so that a large-surface outgoing air filter or hygiene filter (17) can be placed underneath the housing cover, and in the existence of a small available installation space, to make it possible to provide an optimal arrangement of the actuating elements (18) for the cable winding-up device, an on/off switch and a control element (19) for adjusting the vacuuming power. To this end, the housing cover (2) is pivotally mounted in the rear area of the appliance housing (3) via hinge arms (6) that at least partially cover the motor blower compartment (11) or the cover (22) with the actuating elements placed thereon.
