[origin: WO2005113404A1] The invention relates to a safety brake (1). According to the invention, an operating parameter is detected by means of a measuring sensor for each relative position of the brake rotor (2) to the brake stator (3) that lies outside the positive-fit locked position of the brake. Said operating parameter is fed to a generator system (7) in order to supply hydraulic fluid to a piston-cylinder unit (5), which initiates the release of the brake, thus permitting pre-determined functional interdependencies to exist in the operating area of the safety brake (1) that lies outside the locked position of said brake.
