[origin: EP1752414A1] The saddle underlay has its top side facing the underneath of the saddle (3) and pockets (16) arranged left and right of the line of symmetry (A) to extend roughly parallel to same over the entire length of the underlay (10). A plate-type spring unit (20) which can be a single spring plate or a multi-plate spring packet fits in each pocket for secure hold in correct position on the horse. The pockets can be detachably mounted on the saddle underlay through touch and close fasteners (18) or the like.
