[origin: WO2005117658A1] The invention relates to a pneumatic cushion, which enables a good deformability while meeting high demands with regard to sitting comfort, comprised of a textile, essentially inelastic enclosure (1) that is not gas-tight and containing a number of webs (2) that subdivide the cross-section of the pneumatic cushion into four chambers. The chambers are formed by four webs (2) that, starting from a central axis (5) lying, in essence longitudinally inside the cushion, extend in a star-shaped manner toward the enclosure (1). A gas-tight bladder (3) is inserted inside each of these chambers. This bladder (3) is made from a thin, gas-tight elastic membrane, for example, comprised of PU film. The bladders (3) are either each provided with a valve (4) via which they can be individually pressurized or the bladders (3) communicate via ducts or openings and form combinations of bladders (3).
