[origin: WO2005117664A1] The invention relates to a merchandise support (1) for self-service shops comprising a housing (2), which has a merchandise holding space (9) and two sidewalls (3) that are joined by a frame (4). The merchandise support is designed in such a manner that access openings (10) provided for removing the item of merchandise are formed on the front and/or rear side (7, 8) of the merchandise support (1) and can be closed by at least one power-operated closure grate (23). The at least one closure gate (23) is guided in guide tracks (11) located on the sidewalls (3) and, in addition, is guided on at least one supporting track (12) located between the sidewalls (3). The at least one closure grate (23), when in a stowed position, in which the access openings (10) can be accessed, is situated, at least with a portion of its volume, inside a stowage space (24) located outside of the merchandise holding space (9). The invention is characterized in that, inside the stowage space (24), at least one track section (13) is formed, which is provided in the form of an independent part, is fixed to the frame (4), and which forms an extension of the at least one supporting track (12).
