[origin: WO2005118449A1] Device (10) and method for joining textile yarns (16a, 16b). The device (10) includes a joining chamber (13) inside which the ends of the two yarns (16a, 16b) to be joined are introduced. The joining chamber (13) can be closed and defines, in its closed position, a joining compartment which is hit by a fluid. The device (10) comprises, for each of the yarns (16a, 16b), first clamping members (21a, 21b) to clamp the ends of the yarn (16a, 16b), second gripping members (14a, 14b) rotating substantially around the axis of the relative yarn (16a, 16b) in order to perform the de-twisting and re-twisting of the yarn (16a, 16b), and cutting members (22). The joining chamber (13), the clamping members (21a, 21b) clamping the ends of the yarns (16a, 16b), and the de-twisting and twisting rotating members (14a, 14b) are driven by respective and independent drive elements governed by the commands of an electronic control unit (15).
