A method for fabricating part of a kitchen-ware article such as a plate made of glass, porcelain or ceramic and comprising at least one electronically readable data carrier, especially a transponder, containing information. A casting/sealing compound, as well as the data carrier, is mounted in a recess in the article i.e. plate, which is heated to a temperature above room-temperature to accelerate the curing process for the compound material. An independent claim is included for part of a kitchen-ware item such as a plate.

Verfahren zur Herstellung eines Geschirrteils (1) aus Glas, Porzellan oder Keramik, umfassend wenigstens einen eine Information enthaltenden elektronisch auslesbaren Datenträger (6), insbesondere einen Transpondern (7), wobei in eine am Geschirrteil (1) ausgebildete Vertiefung (3) der Datenträger (6) sowie eine Vergussmasse (8) eingebracht wird, wobei das Geschirrteil (1) zur Beschleunigung des Aushärtevorgangs der Vergussmasse (8) auf eine Temperatur oberhalb Raumtemperatur erwärmt ist.
