Abstract (en)
[origin: EP1754911A2] A primary absorber (110) or spring absorbs the stroke of the wheel set under the chassis of a rail vehicle. An absorption reducer, with an oscillating frequency range lower than the natural frequency of the wheel set stroke, is provided to the primary absorber. The reducer includes a pressure sensor (210) located on one of the primary absorber chambers (140,150), a processor (220), and a controller (250) such as a proportional valve. The controller regulates the pressure (P1,P2) in each chamber, reducing or switching off the absorption effect. Independent claims are included for the following: (1) a rail vehicle; and (2) a method for absorbing the wheel set strokes of a rail vehicle.
