[origin: WO2005120874A1] A control system for a cabriolet or convertible vehicle having a trunk lid (19) which rotates from the front to the rear in order to provide access to a roof storage compartment (18A) comprises sensing means (32) for detecting the presence of an object within a predetermined distance behind the vehicle. If an object is detected within the predetermined distance then the system hinders or prevents movement of the roof (10) and/or the trunk lid (19) so as to prevent the trunk lid from striking the object.
