[origin: WO2005112022A1] A method for producing graphics on the so-called working surface (20) of an optical medium (2), which surface carries information (2000, 2001), including manufacturing said medium (200) from a clear material, selectively depositing a first reflective material (203) on said working surface in a area corresponding to said graphics, uniformly depositing a second reflective material (201), and depositing a protective coating (202). The first (203) and second (201) materials are of contrasting colours, thereby differentiating the areas coated with the first material from non-coated adjacent areas when the working surface (20) is exposed to a light source (la). The invention also relates to optical media (2), such as CDs or DVDs, obtained via said method.
