[origin: DE102004030706B3] The air supply device is used in a vehicle seat with air outflow openings (18) in the upper part of the seat to blow air in the region of the head shoulder and neck of the passenger. The air flow can be regulated by means of a control unit (24) by regulating the fan rotation rate of a blower (38) and the air flow can be warmed by a heating element (39). The heating element has three stages. These can be selected by the control unit in response to a first external parameter value. The control unit can regulate the rotation rate of the blower in response to a second external parameter value. Independent claims also cover a method of operating the device.
