[origin: WO2006000282A1] In a known device, the bulky nonwoven supplied to the top side of an endless belt is compressed between the needlepunching drum and the endless belt in order to be spunlaced and at the same time is wetted by a first water curtain from a nozzle beam whose water jets flow first through the endless belt, then through the fibre web and finally through the needlepunching drum. According to the invention, the non-compressed nonwoven is held on the underside of an endless belt by a suction draught and tangentially conveyed to a needlepunching drum arranged under the endless belt. This causes the fibre web to be transferred by gravity from the endless belt to the needlepunching drum.
