[origin: WO2005121462A1] The invention relates to a hydrant (1) comprising a valve housing (4) that is provided with a shut-off device (14), the latter comprising at least one shut-off element (17, 20), e.g. valve piston (19) or floating ball (16), which can be adjusted using at least one actuating unit (21) and comprising a flange sealing ring (35) that is situated in a valve housing (4) and delimits a flow cross-section (30) for a medium (3). A hydrant column (8) comprising a hydrant head (9) with at least one outlet fitting (10) for the medium (3), is positioned on the valve housing (4). The latter (4) is divided on a plane that runs perpendicular to a flow direction of the medium (3) and is configured by a base housing (6) with the shut-off device (14) and an attachment housing (7), which is maintained at a distance by a flange assembly (44) of the flange sealing ring (35) and which has a guide assembly (27) for the shut-off element (17, 20).
