Abstract (en)
The timepiece has a striking mechanism with hour, quarter and minute racks (37-39) respectively having ratchet teeth (37a, 38a, 39a) for driving striking pallets. Return springs (40-42) connect the racks (37-39) respectively to hour, quarter and minute snails (34-36). A release lever (48) disconnects temporarily the racks from a striking gear train so that the springs engage the racks with the snails and the train brings the racks in a determined angular position at the end of the striking. The racks are pivoted at the geometrical center of the movement of the timepiece.
