[origin: WO2006000301A1] The invention relates to a device for the electrochemical surface treatment of metal parts in an electrolyte bath (B). The device comprises a drum (12) which is rotatable about an axis (X) and provided with a shell (14) and sidewalls (16, 18). The sidewalls (16, 18) of the drum (12) are used as the anode in an electric circuit of the process and delimit, together with the shell (14), a gap-type working chamber (20) having a gap width (W) that is defined by the distance between the sidewalls (16, 18). The gap width (W) is chosen depending on the size and/or the geometry of the metal parts to be treated in the working chamber (20) in such a manner that all metal parts present in the working chamber (20) during the electrochemical surface treatment of the metal parts are subjected to substantially the same extent with current.
